SHAHI CHICKEN MASALA
According to food historians around the world, Mrs Balbir Singh’s Shahi Chicken Masala is the dish that the world famous Chicken Tikka Masala originates from. It’s a little more creamy and indulgent, with subtle layers and a real depth of flavour. This should be no surprise as it’s roots lie in the royal kitchens of the Mughal Emperors. A unique, slightly decadent and moreish curry.
KASHMIRI ROGAN JOSH
This aromatic lamb curry is a signature dish of Kashmiri cuisine, and is one of the main dishes in the famous multi-course meal, wazwan. Kashmir is a place where one sees nature at its height, a soul-stirring spectacle which will linger in one’s mind forever. The cuisine is a magnificent blending of the culinary arts of the Mughals and the Kashmiris.
ORIGINAL GARAM MASALA
The most important spice blend in Northern India. Different family or regional versions of Garam Masala are used in the majority of Indian kitchens on a daily basis. We include our own heritage blend in this gift box for you to use towards the end of each of the recipes in this gift box as a finishing spice, elevating the whole dish to perfection.
Whereas all our spice blends are vegan-friendly, you may need to use your favourite vegetarian or vegan alternatives in our recipes and serving suggestions where required.
The spices we use are free from gluten but are processed in a facility that also handles nuts and wheat
I have purchased two of these gift boxes for a Christmas present for the same person. I must say that I’m disappointed that 2 items are duplicated in both boxes. However, that’s where my disappointment ends! The gift box is absolutely gorgeous-exceptionally classy and very expensive looking-even wrapped in black tissue paper to co-ordinate. I am certain that my son-in-law, who loves cooking, will be delighted with his gift. I have purchased and used some of the curries myself and they are totally second to none-unbelievably delicious and very easy and quick to put together. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
My son is the family chef and this was a birthday gift for him. As he has used Mrs Balbir Singh products before and we’ve had wonderful tasty meals I’d say these are a must in any kitchen 😊
I have made the keema , with quorne mince and the flavours are rich but not overpowering, very aromatic too.I also made the Rogan Ghosht with chicken as we prefer poultry to lamb and found that equally tasty, a lovely rich colour, sumptuous sauce with just enough spice "kick" to lift it without drowning the subtleties of the lovely spice blend, a very distinctive hit on the pallette with a beautiful aroma that filled the house.We enjoyed a lovely family Indian fast night with the rogan ghosht and the keema as our main course dishes.Everyone enjoyed the flavours.
This is the first time using these spice mixes and I have to say I'm very impressed.
Cooking more curries now that I have been introduced to the wonderful spices and impressive recipe cards. Have also found the Gift Boxes good presents for foodie friends and relations. Highly recommend.
