I’ve just bought this starter set for a friend’s birthday because I’m a big fan of Mrs Balbir Singh and maintain a stock of the full range. This smaller selection is perfect to start out as it has a great mix of curry, grill and biryani options, suitable for meat or veggie. I have no doubt my friend will love it and come back to buy more.

A little confession, I hate tamarind so I used a bit of lime juice instead.
I’ve just recently discovered these spice pots and they really bring an authentic Indian taste to the base ingredients. I’m also finding the recipe cards helpful especially for making the biryani which is first class. Highly recommend these products.

Recently bought 2 14 pack “Collections” one for home and the other away, where I periodically treat Spanish friends to “rest of world” cooking! I tried my first dish making Lamb Raan, using new season local lamb shoulder butterflied off the shoulder. Served with lightly spiced roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese loaded with spinach, it was a revelation. It was important for me not to overpower the accompaniments to the lamb in order to judge the spicing. Seldom looked forward to eating leftovers so much and already looking forward to my next curry experience.

All spices are excellent. The flavour they impart just wonderful. The dishes are authentic. Instructions are brilliant and the web site is also excellent to look at the dishes and have excellent guidance. I ordered some for my daughter to try.
Just ordered the pouch of old Delhi butter chicken sauce to take away on my holiday... perfect curry spices on the move...I'll let you know how it goes once prepared and eaten 😄
I have been using this biryani mix for several years and it never fails to amaze. Complex, satisfying and truly delicious. Biryani can be a complicated dish to prepare, but the step-by-step instructions Mrs Singh provides make the process a true pleasure. Make sure you make a little extra: the leftovers are even better the morning after and, with a fried egg on top, they make a breakfast that’s fit for a king.
This is a real family favourite: delicious, and very easy to make. For a little variety, I sometimes add spinach or Swiss chard. And a julienne of ginger on top when you serve it really wakes up the flavours.
Amazing spice blend! The flavors are perfectly balanced, fresh, and aromatic. It adds a delicious taste to everything I cook without being overpowering. Great quality and definitely a staple in my kitchen. Highly recommend!
Have made Biryani many times and the results are always consistent. Made it for my mother on a recent trip to Canada. She absolutely loved it. Asked if I was using her recipe!!!! She used to take hours making her Biryani. We loved it, so tasty. Using Mrs Barbie’s Biryani mix , the result was very similar to my mums recipe . Just as tasty but a shorter preparation time. My mum was the judge!!! Out of this world taste. I tip she gave me was to add sautéed potatoes when layering. Thanks you🙏
This is now among my husband’s favourite meals and mine! I substitute the natural yoghurt for kefir follow the recipe, marinate overnight and put in the oven the following day. The result wonderfully moist gently spiced roast chicken. I generally serve with amrisari chana masala or indian style spinach and pilau rice. Delicious.
I love all of mrsbalbirsingh spices. I use the biryani recipe very often. Sometimes too when making rice along with garlic, chilli, onion, a cinammon stick and ginger I add a teaspoon or two of this spice to flavour the rice even when not making biryani - delicious.
This garam masala isn’t like any other I have tried. It adds the umami to the final dish.
I’ve tried making my own blend but this beats it even time!!

I have been using mrs Balbir Singh products for a few years now. I have not found a curry as good outside of the restaurant.
My favourite and go back to is old butter chicken which is amazing.
Like all the other spice mixes the Garam Masala is perfect for adding the finishing touches to your curry and other dishes. Sprinkling a teaspoon of it over whole Tandoori Chicken half way through cooking takes it to another level. Excellent.
