Cocktail Kebabs — the finished dish

Behind the blend

Imagine you're at one of India's iconic gymkhana clubs. You're out on the lawns, a gentle breeze stirs, and a peacock struts by. You sip a gin and tonic and talk of yesterday's excursion to the Taj Mahal. The sun is setting — the golden hour — and the waiter brings a plate of little kebabs to enjoy with your aperitifs. You take a bite and, for just a moment, life is perfect.

Great little savoury treats. Perfect as a spicy amuse-bouche with your aperitif, or make them bigger for a first course. Highly recommend.

Questions, answered

I've never cooked Indian food — is this actually easy?

Yes. Every tin comes with an authentic Mrs Balbir Singh recipe card that walks you through it step by step. Thousands of first-time cooks have made restaurant-quality curries with it — no experience needed.

I already cook Indian food — is this still for me?

Absolutely — you're exactly who we make these for. If you already cook, you know great Indian food lives and dies by the spices: the highest grade ones, freshly toasted, ground and balanced in the correct proportions. That's the slow, exacting part — and it's the part we've done for you, every blend made to Mrs Balbir Singh's original recipes. You get the depth you'd spend hours building, in minutes, with the same result every time — then season and make it your own, exactly as you would.

Is it very spicy?

It's about flavour, not heat. Butter Chicken is rich and mild, and the recipe card lets you dial the chilli up or down to taste. Indian food is defined by region and balance, not a heat scale.

I usually order this from the takeaway — how is this different?

It's the real thing, made properly at home: freshly roasted, ground and blended spices, with no jars, no base gravy and no shortcuts. Most people tell us it's better than their Friday takeaway.

Do I need a cupboard full of other spices?

No. One tin replaces the 10–20 spices you'd otherwise buy. Add a few fresh ingredients from the recipe card and you're done.

How many servings does a tin make, and how should I store it?

Each tin makes 12+ servings. Store it closed in a cool, dark place, and check the best-before date on the tin base.

Great grills aren't ordered. They're made.

  3. Rest & Serve

Then comes the best part — the smoky aroma pulling everyone to the table, the “this is better than our local”, the plates picked clean. Whether it's a weeknight grill, a slow roasted leg of lamb or a summer barbecue, these are the mixed grills and Sunday lunches they'll ask you to make again… and again.

One flat note — or the whole symphony?

The takeaway, jar and microwave meal hit the same flat note — chilli, tomato or cream. Real Indian food is highly nuanced, needing a specific blend and method for every dish.

CRAFTED FOR

GRILL MASTERS

Whether you're roasting tandoori chicken, grilling paneer, searing lamb chops, or skewering kebabs — this is spice for those who understand heat, timing, and technique.
Served hot from the grill or plated alongside biryani and bold North Indian curries, Indian grilling is a ritual worth doing right. These are the gourmet masalas for those who cook with smoke, fire, and flair — crafted to bring depth, balance, and boldness to every flame-kissed dish. For those who know the difference.

OUR METHOD

THE ART OF SPICE™

Every tin goes through our 7-stage process — from sourcing whole spices to custom toasting and grinding. We blend in small batches and seal at origin for peak freshness. No fillers. No artificial colours. No shortcuts. This is Indian spicecraft — refined. Every tin. Every teaspoon. Every time.

THE GOLD STANDARD

Long before “tandoori” became a global buzzword, Mrs Balbir Singh was codifying the recipes that defined it — from dry spice rubs and yoghurt-infused marinades to the exacting techniques behind real Indian grilling. Today, her family continues that legacy — crafting blends that deliver true tandoori flavour, whether you're cooking over flame, in the oven or airfryer, or under the grill More than just a spice brand. The gold standard of Indian flavour, reborn.
