Make this aromatic lamb curry which is a signature dish of Kashmiri cuisine, and which is one of the main dishes in the famous multi-course meal wazwan. Kashmir is a place where one sees nature at its height, a soul-stirring spectacle which will linger in one’s mind forever. The cuisine is a magnificent blending of the culinary arts of the Moghuls and the Kashmiris.

For an even more authentic result we include a tin of our Original Garam Masala blend in this two-pack, to use as the perfect finishing spice in this recipe.

 Contains:

  • An authentic Mrs Balbir Singh recipe card
  • 1 x Kashmiri Rogan Josh blend (50g)
  • Makes between 12-18 servings
  • 1 x Original Garam Masala Blend

Whereas all our spice blends are vegan-friendly, you may need to use your favourite vegetarian or vegan alternatives in our recipes and serving suggestions where required.

The spices we use are free from gluten but are processed in a facility that also handles nuts and wheat

A big favourite

Wonderful aromatic spices and makes for a great curry. Best made using lamb I have tried chicken too but not the same. Simple easy to follow instructions and best cooked in the oven. I have tried cooking just on the hob but not as good. A medium spiced curry and my favourite after the Old Delhi Butter Chicken

Into the batch cycle - a keeper

I followed the recipe to the letter. Most difficult was finding the lamb - in the end I had to "make do" with 500g neck fillet and added a handful of red lentils about an hour in. I prepared all the ingredients in advance (good boy) and followed the simple process and timings. I didn't seal the meat - needn't have worried - melt in the mouth. The final sprinkle of garam masala was a first for me and added range to the flavours. Served with chappatis from frozen, Brilliant. Improved overnight in fridge, I managed to get only one portion into the freezer this time. Will try harder.
