Born in a small neighbourhood inside the walled city of Old Delhi soon after The Partition of India in 1947. With such humble beginnings Butter Chicken and its variants such as Chicken Tikka Masala have gone on an international journey to conquer every corner of the culinary world, as its most popular Indian dish.
KASHMIRI ROGAN JOSH
This aromatic lamb curry is a signature dish of Kashmiri cuisine, and is one of the main dishes in the famous multi-course meal, wazwan. Kashmir is a place where one sees nature at its height, a soul-stirring spectacle which will linger in one’s mind forever. The cuisine is a magnificent blending of the culinary arts of the Moghuls and the Kashmiris.
GOAN VINDALOO
Introduced to the coastal state of Goa in the 1500s by Portuguese sailors who travelled with their garlic-flavoured vinegar stew. Carne de Vinha d'alhos, or vindaloo, refers to meat cooked in wine and garlic. One of the most famous but also misrepresented Indian dishes, this version is packed full of its signature intense, tangy, garlicky and 'pickled pork' notes, and can be as hot or mild as you prefer.
ORIGINAL GARAM MASALA
The most important spice blend in Northern India. Different family or regional versions of Garam Masala are used in the majority of Indian kitchens on a daily basis. We include our own heritage blend in this gift box.
