Dal in any form is comfort food in India. The addition of spinach makes this recipe not only incredibly wholesome and flavourful but a plant-based powerhouse!

I bought this for my vegetarian brother (and wife) I'm hoping they will enjoy this. They are more Italian foodies.
My wife and I like to make our own soups and I thought I would use the Dal Palak recipe to do this and we made it a little more watery and it was superb so this is now a regular on our Indian recipes. Very tasty and great when served with freshly baked bread.
Last night, my wife made a butter chicken - and it was amazing. We had some left over, and I have just finished that for today's lunch with a side of Dal Palak. Two amzing dishes that cost a few pounds, and compliment each other so well. We have decided that restaurants/takeaways can no longer compete with our home made, and start planning next meals shortly after finishing!
For Xmas, I bought my brother the full set. He had a shoulder of goat in the freezer, and immediately created his first Goat Raan. He's hooked too!

No matter which curry I make, Dal Palak is always a side, and personally, I often eat it as my main dish. I love the subtle blend of spices, with no single spice overwhelming the others.
